MRW Energy Management, Inc. (“MRW”) is a corporation which specializes in identifying affordable energy savings solutions that make sense. It is a licensed distributor of STEMS energy saving units.

In the past, companies have made false claims of energy savings by implementing costly and complicated systems. No matter what energy saving systems a company has heard of or tried in the past, i.e., complicated computerized, bulk capacitors, load shifting and others, these systems over promised and under delivered. MRW’s solutions require no change in a company’s current operation and actually lower its maintenance.

Using STEMS energy saving units and a comprehensive testing protocol employing DENT Dataloggers, MRW custom designs an energy saving solution that under promises and over delivers. MRW guarantees its customers a ten percent (10%) reduction in inductive load but has consistently delivered reductions well in excess of the ten percent (10%) guarantee. With only a ten percent (10%) reduction in inductive load at present utility rates the payback period is usually between two and four years. The payback period is shortened in those instances where MRW delivers more than a ten percent (10%) reduction in inductive load and/or energy costs increase. In any event, when you consider that the useful life of MRW’s STEMS energy saving units is over thirteen (13) years, a customer can expect to receive significant energy dollar savings long after it has paid for the cost of MRW’s STEMS energy savings solution. All of this is accomplished without altering or interfering with the day to day operation of a facility and without creating new maintenance requirements.

MRW’s STEMS energy saving solution starts with a comprehensive survey of all motors in a facility detailing motor location, horsepower, etc. The survey is followed by an extensive testing process using Dent Dataloggers to confirm that the STEMS energy saving solution is viable and cost effective for a particular facility and upon such confirmation to determine proper location and sizing of STEMS energy saving units. The benefits of installing MRW’s STEMS energy savings solution are a significant increase in the facility’s power factor, a reduction in amp draw, KVA, KVAR, KWH and motor operating temperature. Additional benefits of MRW’s STEMS energy savings solution include diminished motor operating temperatures resulting in lower motor maintenance and extended motor life, removal of transient voltages, lower harmonic disturbances, surge protection (including lightning strikes – STEMS energy saving units installed in parallel). TVSS components act to remove transient voltages and filter capacitors act to improve Total Harmonic Disturbances thus further conditioning the AC waveform. This has an effect of helping improve the service life of equipment. MOVs (metal oxide varistor), provide a perfect ground, removing high voltage and switching transient voltages. Without a STEMS energy saving unit installed, motors are affected by the rise in current and frequency and generate a variance in the 60Hz waveform. The cumulative effect imposed upon contacts, coils and semi-conductors by numerous disruptive surges, including harmonics, causes efficiency losses on the motors which in turn substantially increase power consumption as the motor compensates to meet demand. As pitting and corrosion occur there is a rise in the operational temperature of the motor which increases kilowatt usage and maintenance costs, as well as reduces the life expectancy of the motors and ballast. Many facilities have installed bulk capacitors in order to avoid power factor penalties from their utility. The installation of bulk capacitors only eliminates the power factor penalty imposed by the electric utility company, while providing minimum impact on the plant’s overall KWH usage. The beneficiary of a bulk capacitor system is the electric utility company. Whether or not your plant has an existing bulk capacitor installation, MRW Energy Management’s energy savings solution allows STEMS energy savings units to work in unison with motors, decreasing amp draw to the motor, KVA, KWH usage, KVAR and motor operating temperature and increasing power factor.
